CPS adopted a hybrid model of returning to school, with a plan agreed upon by the CTU and the city. At Lane, this looked like approximately 50% of students returning to the school building for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic forced school closures last March. Students are broken into two shifts, A and B.
For the first time since last spring, Lane’s general education students attended school in person on April 19. Door O, which boasts the clocktower, was among the several entrances open to students. Above, the clocktower on April 25.

Your contribution will allow us to cover our annual website hosting costs, which are no longer covered by our district/school. If we do not meet our goal, we may lose this website and its archive of stories covering 2009-2023. Student journalists at Lane Tech use this archive to research past coverage of various topics and link to past stories to offer readers additional context for current stories.
