Lane Tech’s baseball team hosted the St. Rita Mustangs on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. The game had a slow start, but St. Rita was the first to make a move with one run at the top of the 4th inning.
Lane quickly followed with senior Nick Lagges scoring the first run of the season. The next run was made at the bottom of the fifth by Edwin Quinones stole home on a passed ball.
The rest of the game was a stalemate, as St. Rita was not able to gain any more runs to catchup to Lane. The Mustangs blew a bases loaded, no-outs situation in the top of the seventh, scoring no runs and granting Lane a 2-1 win for the season opener.
