Five games into the season for Lane baseball and they were 0-3 against cities out of the city limits until they met the Evanston Wildkits.
A chilly Friday afternoon game at Kerry Wood stadium proved instrumental for Lane to show themselves against a tougher suburban team and they more than did that, winning 9-2.
The non-conference game began with Lane making the first run of the day during the first inning.
Evanston momentarily caught up to Lane in innings two and three placing them ahead of Lane with a score of 2-1.
However, Lane got back ahead of Evanston, gaining eight runs throughout the rest of the game. Evanston couldn’t keep up, which ended the game for Lane granting them their 4th win of the season.
