TBT Nov. 6

The return of the Channel 26 competitive Roller Derby was all the rage back in November of 1967! Students looked forward to the intense races and enthusiastic broadcasting of the sport that came about “back in 1929.” Students also faced their own battles as all intramural sports were postponed due to a limited selection of gym teachers.
Fifty years ago, Lane celebrated their eventful finish and second place award in a fall cross country meet.
This past weekend, two of Lane’s very own runners qualified to compete at the upcoming state meet. Sophomore Maggie Scholle and senior Pavlo Hutsalyek will race three miles this Saturday, November 8th in the IHSA State Championships, against the fastest runners in Illinois. Wish them luck!
Your donations directly fund the Lane Tech student journalism program—covering essential costs like website hosting and technology not supported by our school or district. Your generosity empowers our student reporters to investigate, write, and publish impactful stories that matter to our school community.
This website is more than a publishing platform—it's an archive, a research tool, and a source of truth. Every dollar helps us preserve and grow this resource so future students can learn from and build on the work being done today.
