Teachers help students register to vote

The Social Studies Department is hosting a voter registration drive today during lunch periods and after school. Any student who is a U.S. citizen and is 18 or will turn 18 by April 7 is eligible to register to vote in next month’s mayoral election.
AP U.S. History teacher Ms. Caracci said that the drive is intended to reach out to students who have not yet registered or who do not know how to register for the election.
“We’re especially targeting 17-year-olds with birthdays this month,” Caracci said.
Students can stop by room 230 during their lunch periods or after school for help with registration.
Your donations directly fund the Lane Tech student journalism program to cover our annual website hosting costs -- which are not paid by the school or district. Your generosity empowers our student reporters to investigate, write, and publish impactful stories that matter to our school community.
This website serves as an essential archive and research tool -- as well as an enduring historical record for the Lane Tech school community. Every dollar helps us preserve and grow this resource so future students can learn from and build on the work being done today.
